This is a courtesy translation. The German Datenschutzerklärung is legally binding.
In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and embeds no third-party content. All fonts, images and scripts are loaded directly from our own web server.

2. General
When you visit this website, no cookies are set, nothing is stored in your browser (e.g. local storage), no analytics or advertising services are used and no external content (such as fonts, maps, videos or social media plugins) is loaded. There are no forms and no user accounts.
The small script on this site (e.g. for the time-of-day sky in the header, the image gallery and the elevation profile) runs entirely in your browser. The time on your device used for this is not transmitted to us. Consent under § 25 TDDDG is therefore not required.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the host (Art. 28 GDPR). The host processes data only on our instructions and only as far as necessary to provide the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable provision of our website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
4. Server log files
When you access the website, your browser transmits information for technical reasons, which the web server stores in log files: IP address, date and time of access, requested file and amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and version, operating system.
This data is not combined with other data sources and is not used to identify individuals. It serves solely to deliver the website correctly and securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and is deleted automatically after the host’s usual short retention period, unless longer storage is required to investigate a security incident.
5. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognisable by “https://” and the padlock symbol in your browser’s address bar.
6. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your details (email address, name, content) solely to handle your enquiry, based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Links to other websites
This website contains plain links, e.g. to OpenStreetMap (directions) or niedermeier.net. Only when you click such a link do you leave our site; the privacy policy of the respective provider then applies. No data is transmitted to these providers beforehand.
8. Your rights
Within the statutory framework you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Simply contact us at the address above. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
